- Managing Director
Adrian has conducted many entrepreneurial and life skill courses
for the past 12 years. He is a certified consultant for the RCI’s Peak Profiler
and a member of The Enterprise Challenge panel, under the Prime Minister’s
Office, Public Service.
Established in April 2003, Ms Elim Chew (Founder and Managing Director of 77th
Street) and Adrian have reached out to more than 60,000 youths and young
professionals. They have developed several training programmes that are able to
inject fun into the learning process. Through their creative enhancement of Tyem
programmes, they have developed a holistic learning environment.
In February 2004, Tyem published a book called “My Voice”. My Voice is a book
that provide youths a platform to share their inner thoughts, something they
have never told, something they have always wanted to tell or their inner most
secrets. My Voice hopes to bring release and relief, comfort to these youths to
express themselves; something our culture and environment constrains us to. My
Voice will bring more awareness and reach out to many to further understand what
youths are going through in our ever-changing society. In Sept/Oct 06, My Voice
– Breaking Free Volume 2 will be launched, a sequel to My Voice.
Over the last 3 years, together with Action Community for Entrepreneurship,
National Junior College, ITE College East and Tyem, we have been organising the
annual Enterprise Day which has reached out to over 2,000 participants. The
Enterprise Day provided youths with a clearer insight of what entrepreneurship
is and why the importance.
Adrian has been involved in numerous speaking engagements from schools to
international seminars. In 2005, Adrian was invited by National Youth Council to
attend a Commonwealth Youth Entrepreneurship Programme in Chennai, India. In
2004, Adrian represented Singapore in the Asia Pacific Organisation on a study
meeting on Creative Entrepreneurship. With Ministry of Community Development
Youth and Sports, Adrian presented a research paper on the resilient youths in
Singapore.
With the collaboration of many private sector companies and government agencies,
Adrian has been able to garner strong support to help sponsor the many youth’s
activities. On 25 April 2005, Tyem Academy was established to provide
out-of-school youths with an alternative education. These youths will focus on
entrepreneurship and a career academic programme to have a better success path
in the real world. In July 06, Project Youth Regeneration was given a start-up
capital of $50,000 by UBS to have physically challenged and out-of-school youths
find employment in the real estate industry. The ultimate aim of these
programmes is to enable youths to empower themselves and envision their future.
